Epidode 73 – Pacific Rimjob

Pacific rimjob anybody? Gundammit don’t we have a giant robot sized episode for you this week. We’re reviewing “Pacific Rim: Uprising”, the sequel arrives sans original director Guillermo Del Toro but with more John Boyega. But before that we also review “Jessica Jones -Season 2”, the videogame “Ni No Kuni 2” out on PC and PS4 and also another movie review with “7 Days in Entebbe” a film based on the hijacking of Air France Flight 139 in 1976.

First up on the chopping block is “Jessica Jones – Season 2″ now available for streaming on Netflix. Following the events of the first season and “The Defenders”, which united all the Marvel Netflix properties into one show. Does the new season move the mini universe forward, or is it heading in the wrong direction?

If Ghibli made a game

“Ni No Kuni 2” arrives on PC and PS4,  set hundreds of years after the events of the first game. The game now boasts an added building sim where you’ve got to manage buildings, generate resources and research skill trees. The first game received widespread critical acclaim for it’s gameplay and art direction. But does the new game improve on the original or is it like the new story just a spiritual successor?

Peace in the Middle-East

“Seven Days in Entebbe” also arrives in cinema’s retelling the hijacking of Air France Flight 139. This story has been told a few times already, but now this time focused on the perspective of the two German conspirators Wilfried Böse (Daniel Bruhl) and Brigitte Kuhlmann (Rosmanud Pike). The film does take a very unique narrative, but could does it tell us anything new that so many other depictions haven’t done?

So Guillermo Del Toro found better things to do with his time, but “Pacific Rim: Uprising” is here. Now under the direction of a Steven S. DeKnight, and starring John Boyega, who also appears as producer.  Also returning are Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Burn Gorman reprising their roles from the first film.
