This week the trio review Marvel’s latest entry to the MCU with a slightly spoilerific ramble of “Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 2”. Does it suffer from the sophomore curse or can James Gunn shoot for the stars? And seeing as how nobody cared til they made it, the guys also pitch their own ideas for potential blockbuster movies from lesser known franchises.
It’s the height of power rangers fervor, the boys look back and speculate on the fandom and address the tonal shift from it’s source material. What happens when you mix in giant robots and sorcery supreme? Also featuring Forza Horizon 3, and some some introductory rambles about the results of the recent US presidential elections.
In this episode we explore the satisfaction of charging head first into battle while on horseback in “Battlefield 1” and also talk about the first few hours of the “Civilization VI” experience. There’s always time to mix gaming with TV shows from Netflix. The Last King crew tackle Destiny: Rise of Iron (sans Raid), the remastered BioShock collection, Metal Gear Survive (again), Narcos, Preacher, and 2016’s Blair Witch which surprisingly does not suck and blow.
Still recovering from STGCC2016, the boys sit down and talk a little about the event before reviewing the flicks “Kubo and The Two Strings” and “Don’t Breathe”.
And in their second segment they go into full ramble mode, and talk classic 90’s 16-bit platformers “Rocket Knight Adventures” and “Aero the Acrobat”.
